Bathroom Remodeling In Libertyville

One of the biggest compliments we can receive as a small family design-build contractor at Lotus Home Improvement is when a homeowner calls us back for another project!

I’m Camille Johnson.  Along with my husband Marcus, we've been renovating the view for folks throughout Chicago’s north shore and Lake County, Illinois, since 2017. We also have a showroom for remodeling products, making the bathroom (and kitchen and basement, too) remodeling experience more seamless, convenient, and affordable.

I like to feature some of my favorite projects we’ve done along the way here on our ‘Renovate Your View’ blog so you can get some inspiration for your upcoming bathroom renovation project, and see what we are up to as we renovate the industry too!

The existing upstairs hallway bathroom was dark and outdated. You know that early 2000's builder grade? We wanted to keep the same bathroom footprint while brightening the space, and bring the styling up to par with the balance of the other space we had done. We opted to focus on a neutral color palette that was light and bright. We also added additional recessed lighting over the shower to help brighten the bathroom.

The floor tile is a sharp contrast against the painted green cabinetry and light gray shower tile, helping to ground the new bathroom design. We also utilized matte black faucets that help make the new bathroom feel updated.

LIBERTYVILLE BATHROOM REMODEL OBJECTIVES

1. Brighten The Bathroom

The existing hallway bathroom was dark and outdated. We wanted the new bathroom remodel to feel light, bright and contemporary.

2. Create A Stylish Bathroom

It’s not in the budget to do a complete overhaul to an entire home at once for many families in Libertyville, IL and throughout Lake County and Chicago's north shore. Because of this, we wanted to help incorporate the feel of this bathroom to the renovation we had already done and what would be coming within the next few years. This is a smart way to renovate (and realistic for most of us).

3. Add More Function For Family

Because this bathroom is the primary one for the growing children in their household, it was important to consider the functionality of the space. Although we kept the same footprint, we went from a single to a double vanity. We kept a bathtub but made sure it was deeper. We added a custom niche in the shower area for bottles and storage needs.

BEFORE THE BATHROOM REMODEL IN LIBERTYVILLE

Here you can see what the upstairs hallway bathroom looked like before the bathroom remodel. The vanity and mirror combo was builder-grade and basic. The floor was laminated and peeling up. The tub and shower surround was a plastic version with no style and was not to the ceiling causing water to go on the walls. This Libertyville bathroom was in desperate need of a remodel.
